Angela went into the kitchen. Finding the serving tray for the refreshments, carefully laced one of the cups with a very strong, yet delayed poison. Giving her time to slip away, unnoticed. She took the tray and went into the dining room. She handed out the drinks to the others, saving Hadji for last. She took the cup and was handing it to him when she noticed his face, instantly dropping the laced drink, sending a shattering sound through out the palace. Hadji looked at the girl, instantly knowing who she was. But before he could stop her she was already through the door. "Angela!" he yelled but to no avail, soon taking chase after her. She ran as far as she could. Trying to out run him. A line from Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet' kept coming to mind. My only love, sprung from my only hate! Too early seen unknown, and known too late! Prodigious birth of love it is to me That I must love a loathed enemy. In a way that is what it was. Her hate of humans, and the man she was supposed to kill. She tripped over a stone in the road, spraining her semi mortal ankle. "Damn rock." She muttered as she tried to get up. Only causing her pain and taking her back down to the ground. Soon Hadji was right next to her. She was near tears. "Why did you run?" He said softly, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "Because I love you!" she said, now crying in anger. Despite himself Hadji smiled. "I love you too." He whispered. "No, you don't understand! I am here because I am supposed to kill you!" Needless to say Hadji was somewhat shocked. "Then don't. Live here in Bangalore and I promise no harm will come to you." "I wish I could run off with you on your white horse towards your palace and live happily ever after but I can't. We aren't even the same species." "That is impossible." "No it isn't. Your... your mortal. I am a Fae, a Magic. I am being a servant to another. He wants me to kill you and I have to kill you so I can go home." Hadji put his hand on her head and pulled her towards him. "I am the adopted son of a man that looks into 'these' matters. He can help." She pulled away. "No. I can do this on my-" she said as she tried to stand up, soon falling back into Hadji's arms. He got up with her in them. "You are going to get some help for your ankle." he said flatly as he walked towards the palace. Angela didn't object. She just cried inside. Hadji came into the palace with Angela in his arms while Neela, Arabia, and Razim standing there with , literally, their mouths wide open. "Mother, Arabia, Razim, this is Angela, she will be staying in the room joining my own." with that he left suddenly as Angela 'winced' in pain. She wasn't about to let anyone snag Hadji away from her, not till she made her mind up about him anyways. He took her to a large room with a stunning view of the courtyard. He set her down on a large bed with a deep blue velvet comforter and crisp white sheets. Noticing a chill he shut the door to the balcony. "The room must have been aired out today." he said as he closed the door. "Not... a problem." she said. Hadji went to a wash basin and soaked one of the towels in its cool water, placing the cool rag on her ankle. "Your ankle is very swollen." he said, "I thought your kind was immortal, this shouldn't have affected you." "I don't have all my powers either." she stated as he rubbed the cloth on her ankle. She grabbed one of the loose pieces of his turban and pulled it off, sending his long hair to cascade down his back. "You look better without it." "Thank-you, now can I have it back?" "Nope." She waved it in front of his face before making it disappear. "I'm not completely helpless." she smirked. "I noticed." He replied. He smiled at her. "Who was that woman down there?" "My mother." "No, the younger one." "Arabia, my betrothed." "Betrothed?" Hadji sighed, "My feelings exactly." She looked at him, "How can you marry someone when you are already married?" He laughed, "Your not implying I marry you?" "Why not?" "I am trying to get out of being married in the first place." "Well if worse comes to worse the offer is there. I have been married before." "How many times?" "Human or Magic?" "Human." She looked up innocently, "Once. Ouch." "Sorry." "It's okay." "I need to go and speak with my friends. They might be able to come and help us." "Okay. You know where to find me." ~On the other side of the globe... "Mr. Lancaster I have enough of this!" Dr. Quest yelled as he closed his briefcase. "Dr. Quest I am cannot say I am not displeased about this situation." "You want me to build a weapon!" "It would help the economy of this country, giving us BOTH huge benefits. I just need you to work with me." "It could kill millions of people." "It could make us billions." "I don't see either of us having a large need for money." Dr. Quest replied. "Money is power." "Look, I have two kids. This is no example to them." "Two, I thought you only had one?" "I have two," he said briskly, trying to get out." Jonny and Hadji." "Hadji, Hadji.. rings a bell..." "Hadji Singh now if you don't mind good day." Dr. Quest said as he walked out of the office. "Well Dr.Quest, that will soon change." he said as he picked up his phone. "Janice?" "Yes Mr. Lancaster?" "Remind me to call my friend in India." "Yes Mr.Lancaster." Dr. Quest stormed down the steps of the building as he met Race Bannon. "What happened Benton?" "All he thinks about is money!" "Lancaster?" "Yes Lancaster!" he said as he slammed the door to Race's car. "Sorry Race." Dr.Quest said as he winced as the slam echoed. "Don't worry about it. Lets get home so you can relax a little. You seem a little tense." "A little?" He laughed. "Okay VERY tense... Do you mind if I ask you what you had before you went in there?" "Coffee." "Uh-huh, Regular, decaff, or caffeine injected?" "Very funny Race." Soon they pulled up to the Quest compound. "Hi dad!" Jonny said as he ran out of the house, Bandit following close behind. "Hi Jonny!" Benton called out. "JONNY I'M GONNA KILL YOU!!!" Jessie said as she ran out. "Bye dad!" Jonny said and continued to run. Benton looked at Race. "I don't even wanna know." he laughed. "I agree. I'm going upstairs, I need to check and see if Denise E-mailed that program on astrology yet. "Sure Benton, I'll make sure that Jessie doesn't kill Jonny, this time anyways." "Thanks Race." Benton went to his room and started his computer up. "Welcome!" emanated from the AOL screen. "You have mail!" it said. "Well whoopee." he moaned, he was gonna have to get that changed. "Hm, from Hadji, I wonder what's happening in Bangalore..." Hello Dr.Quest, I am sorry to have to make this so brief, I have an injured friend that needs your assistance. My friend is from Avalon, you can see why I called you. You don't need to bring the others if you do not wish. But it concerns me because she said she was here to kill me, though, thankfully, has changed her mind. She was sent here though so more may come, I do not know. Hadji "Avalon?" he murmured. He walked down stairs and saw Jonny, hiding behind the couch. "Jessie still after you?" "No offense dad but, duh." "Look, I need to go to Bangalore. You want to come?" "SURE!" "JONNY QUEST!!!" Jessie yelled as soon as she heard his voice. Jonny jumped up behind his dad. "Sorry Jess, but I'm going to Bangalore!" "Jessie, would you like to come too?" Benton received a poke in the ribs from Jonny right after he said that. Jessie looked straight at Jonny with an evil grimace, "Sure Dr.Quest, I'd LOVE to!" Jonny took a big gulp.
